Anxiety Depression  Psychological Support

There are times in our lives when we lose our sense of well-being and our personal and/or family life balance may feel overwhelming. To regain peace and harmony again, it is good and often necessary to take a step back. We can then examine the needs and focus on the objectives. The psychoeducational approach uses a goal oriented approach which uses a person’s strengths and that of their environment. By working together with the different environments, positive results towards achieving a peaceful balance are possible.

Support is available if you, your child or family are experiencing difficulty coping with any of the following:

  • Stress and anxiety
  • Depression
  • Parental coaching and guidance
  • ADHD
  • Behavioral difficulties
  • Attachment issues
  • Separation anxiety
  • Coping with a diagnosis
  • Grief and loss
  • Relational difficulties within the family or with peers
  • Separation or divorce
  • Any other difficult life situations

The psychoeducational approach is effective and practical. It can prove successful even in a relatively short period of time. The smallest steps can lead to big changes.

How does psychoeducation work?

Personalized support to help meet your goals and needs

  • Parenting support

    Strategies to encourage positive development

Each consultation will provide effective parenting strategies that will encourage you, as well as bring harmony and peace into your home.

  • Observations & Recommendations

    An ecosystemic approach

When a child is experiencing adjustment difficulties, observing them in their environment allows us to determine their functioning in their daily routines to better understand them. Observations may take place at daycare and / or at home. Following the observations, a detailed report will be written and will include recommendations for the parents and educators.

  • Psychoeducational Assessment

    Screening and assessing adjustment difficulties

A psychoeducational assessment of a child not yet admissible to preschool education who shows signs of developmental delay, will help determine the different services which can be offered.

  • Intervention Plans

    Personalized plan to achieve success

Each intervention plan explains the steps and includes those persons able to help support and guide the child towards success. This usually involves the parents, other family members, educators, or professionals whenever necessary. Plans are revised as needed.

Before we meet, you will receive a link to complete a child intake form. These questions provide information about your child’s developmental history. It is also a place where you may discuss your concerns; as well as provide information about the child we will be working with.

Parent sessions are on Zoom or phone. During our time together, I will share strategies and tools that are proven to work. Some people ask if I can work right away with the child. My approach is slow and steady. There is a lot more that can be accomplished when parents are first on board and together, we determine the best plan for the child.

It may take time some patience before we see changes. While there is no guaranty how long it will be, with consistency, we can expect to see changes happen fairly quickly. I am here to support and encourage you along the way.

Each session is a 50-minutes. Insurance receipts are provided.
